On Saturday, January 21, the “Stavros Halioris” Social Center organized a day trip to Thessaloniki, taking advantage of the beautiful sunny weather.
Our first stop was “The Secret Gardens”, the themed exhibition inspired by the stories of renowned Greek author Eugene Trivizas, hosted at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition Centre (TIF-HELEXPO). It was a wonderful opportunity for both children and adults to immerse themselves in a magical world of imagination. Everyone was delighted by the impressive scenery, the music, and the talented performers, who brought the author’s beloved fairy tales to life in a truly memorable way.
Afterwards, participants enjoyed some free time to stroll through the city center of Thessaloniki. The excursion concluded with lunch and the traditional New Year’s cake-cutting ceremony of the Social Center at the family restaurant “Koryfi” in Pefka (Retziki).
The event was honored by the presence of members of the Citizens’ Communication Movement of Filyro (K.E.P.F.). We were especially pleased to meet them in person and learn about their valuable community work. The President of the association, Mrs. Olympia Dimaratou, addressed the attendees and expressed her hope that their theatre group would visit us in the future to present one of their performances.
We would like to thank everyone who joined this excursion for their exemplary conduct, enthusiasm, and positive spirit, which made the day even more enjoyable for all.
