Excursion to Lisse Fort
On Saturday, May 26, 2018, the “STAVROS HALIORIS” Community Center organized its annual end-of-season excursion, marking the close of another successful year of activities. This year’s destination was Lisse Fort, near Kato Nevrokopi.
Participants explored both the exterior and the underground tunnels of the historic fort, descending 16 meters below ground. The visit offered a unique opportunity to experience an important chapter of Greece’s history and to reflect on the courage and sacrifice of the soldiers who defended the fort during World War II.
Following the guided tour, the group enjoyed a coffee break in Kato Nevrokopi and lunch at the Lisse tavern in the nearby village of Ochyro.
The excursion concluded with a visit to Ktima Paradeisio in Adriani, Drama, where the children enjoyed playing outdoors and meeting a variety of animals, including llamas, deer, reindeer, horses, and donkeys.
The Community Center sincerely thanks everyone who contributed to the excellent organization of the trip, as well as all the children and their families for their cooperation, helping make the excursion both enjoyable and memorable.
