On the initiative of Mr. Apostolos Grigoriadis, President of the Magiko Senior Citizens’ Centre (KAPI), a painting exhibition by the artist and former local schoolteacher Mr. Athanasios Tsiakpinis was successfully organized.

The exhibition, which ran from 20 to 22 May 2011, was officially opened by the Mayor of Avdira, Mr. Tsolakidis, and was honoured by the presence of the Metropolitan of Xanthi, local officials, and a large number of visitors.

At the same time, an Oil Painting Exhibition featuring works by the students of the Children’s Painting Department of the “Stavros Halioris” Community Centre was also presented.
