On Tuesday, April 4th, at 17:30, the Folk Dance Sections of the Social Center “STAVROS HALIORIS” visited the Lykeion of Ellinidon in Xanthi with great joy. There, the President of the Lykeion, Mrs. Euterpi Stantsiou, spoke to us about the purposes and programs of the Lykeion of Ellinidon and provided information about the building where the association is housed. During our visit, the children participating in the Children’s and Adolescent Folk Dance Sections presented dances and songs along with our dance instructor, Mr. Kyriakos Athanasiadis.

Later on, we also explored the original sculpture exhibition by Dimitris Avouris, titled “Nafs ’24, The Ships of Wishes,” hosted in the courtyard of the Lykeion building. Our visit concluded with a guided tour of the Exhibition of Traditional Costumes, which was attended with unabated interest by both young and old. This exhibition is a true gem for our city, transporting visitors in a unique and touching way to the past of our region.
