Action-Event within the framework of the participation in the European waste reduction week
Today at 10 am at the “STAVROS HALIORIS” Social Center an action-event was successfully organized within the framework of our participation in the European waste reduction week with the theme “Sustainable Textile Products”.
The event was implemented with the assistance of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace and is part of the actions of EOAN (Hellenic Recycling Organization).
Its purpose was to acquaint children with the broader issue of environmental protection and to adopt the terms of reducing, reusing and recycling waste through a theoretical and practical experiential approach.
Our event started with a play by the children-ambassadors for the recycling of clothes and was followed by a presentation on recycling, the role of its operators and the circular economy, by Ms. Nasia Tsakiri, the manager of the Recycling Department of the Social Center. Finally, we put into practice what we learned and had fun making multipurpose bags and decorative pouches from our old clothes.
